Sea turtles are often affected by the activities of humans, including pollution and marine debris, especially plastics, balloons and improperly discarded fishing gear. All seven sea turtle species are now considered either threatened or endangered, meaning they are in danger of becoming extinct, and are protected by the Endangered Species Act and CITES.  Please use this page to learn more about sea turtles.
